Job Description

The job holder is responsible for analysing and testing TDB (Transaction Database) application. This includes analysing the requirements, effort estimation, test plan design, test executions inclusive of regression test in accordance with SDLC best practices. The role primarily required to work on various TDB projects and collaborating with stakeholders towards QA deliverables. The role also demands to provide support on various testing streams - Regression Testing, Impact Assessment Testing, Year End testing etc. This role will require assisting in mentoring team members.

What will you be doing?
Actively engage with Business Analysts and IT partners in the requirements analysis for system enhancements and changes.
Interpret and understand functional specifications to design Test Strategy, prepare Test Plan, execute Test cases for all changes and documentation of results.
Working independently on all phases of the testing – System test, System integration test, User acceptance test etc
Support regression testing, impact assessment testing, year end testing and other streams which shall be on demand basis
Provide test metrics to key stakeholders at regular intervals
Contribute in test automation strategies; exploring opportunities to move away from manual testing and automate repetitive testing activities within TDB.
Work closely with global development team members spread across various geographies – participating in and contributing to technical discussions. Participate and contribute in technical discussions
Communicate effectively with the Internal /external IT development teams and stakeholders of the project.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
The role requires active collaboration across stakeholders and business units towards QA deliverables from TDB application.

What we’re looking for:
A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related.
Over 10 years of IT experience into Software Testing.
Experience of handling / managing a team of 3 - 4 is good to have.
Hands-on experience into Oracle database and Unix like systems
Testing experience on database centric application will be added advantage.
IB experience is an advantages but not a pre-requisit
Skills that will help you in the role:

Technical Skills:
Knowledge of Oracle, PL/SQL and SQL writing
Experience with Unix (preferably RHEL) / Linux.
Familiar with scheduling management technologies e.g. Autosys, Control M
Good understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Mart concepts with proven experience in both
Experience working with large Oracle databases (1 TB or more)

Personal & Interpersonal Skill:
Able to work well with IT developers in multiple locations.
Knowledge of software development ‘best practices’
Excellent problem solving skills and Analytical skills – ability to investigate and resolve issues in a high-pressured environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask, ability to train others.

Preferred:
Good understanding of investment banking, and the industry sector
Good understanding of front to back finance and operational process flows
Understanding of Agile SDLC concepts; Understanding of Scrum/Kanban Agile SDLC methodology
