Responsibilities:
Can assist PM's in creating test schedules; can work with PM's in scoping requirements
Create, execute, and manage all activities of a test plan to ensure that all the requirements are met
Perform functional, integration and regression testing of APIs
Produce well written test plans, reports, and summaries
Perform and maintain automated functional and regression testing on all internally developed applications to certify them for production implementation.
Review business and functional requirements to produce a release management and test strategy.
Contribute to and review technical specifications relating to the APIs, including documents used by customers for purposes of integration and testing.
Efficient analysis and responsiveness to client technical inquiries on API integration and, when necessary, production incidents.
Use good judgment when there is a need to escalate issues to more senior members of the team.
Create defect tickets, when needed, as a result of customer issues.
Communicate status of customer defects to client and coordinates any client defect fix verification testing.
Contribute to development of internal API monitoring and support tools, utilizing scripting where necessary.
Responsible for staying up to date on latest environment changes and can deploy applications independently
Knowledge and Experience
Must have experience leading a team throughout a major project
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree
7+ years of experience in reviewing product requirements and design, creating test plans, and testing software applications
Must have good understanding of API Design and development for REST/SOAP Web Services
Experience with JSON and XML
Experience with JIRA Software for test planning and tracking
Experience in Web API testing using ReadyAPI, Postman, SOAP UI or JMeter
Knowledge of Software Quality Assurance and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and practices
Knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.) is a plus
Strong background in functional testing with the ability to design and develop comprehensive automated test strategies and test cases
Excellent spoken and written English skills with an ability to communicate ideas, problems and solutions effectively
Collaborative team player who offers assistance to colleagues and works to develop others’ knowledge as well as their own
Must have outstanding organizational skills and demonstrate experience handling multiple project deliverables with success
Ability to work in highly demanding, fast paced environment
Self-motivated, able to work and excel autonomously on job responsibilities
Experience with electronic trading client connectivity, Market Data Feeds, and VeriFIX a plus
Experience and demonstrated mastery in FIX protocol is a plus
