Position description:
As a Principal QA Engineer with a strong customer and quality focus you would be responsible for providing Technical Leadership to the team with a primary focus to review the design/architecture of the product and accordingly, define Test Plans, Test Strategy that is targeted to uncover early defects and helps build quality upstream.
This includes applying Testing Technqiues, Test Methodologies, adopting best practices and tools, driving build product automation, debug field issues and come up with alternate solutions to address the technical challenges and work towards Customer Success.
Primary Responsibilities:
Establishes himself/herself as a Subject-matter expert with strong intrinsic understanding of the product under test.
Designs use cases, scenarios & test beds representative of end users environment & convert them to prioritized and effective test cases.
Creates test strategy, review test plans and test cases, augments test coverage from end user perspective.
Participates in design reviews & promotes Testability.
Understands end-to-end flow of the various features, anticipates potential issues and design tests to validate them.
Works with team to drive testing activities for optimal test coverage.
Promotes cross-functional learnings and implements them in the ongoing projects.
Drives for early finding of defects, reports with all artifacts in 1-go, gets them fixed and gets them to closure.
Identifies potential risks and suggests mitigation options>
Shares knowledge and helps in upskilling of the team and provides technical mentorship.
Additional Responsibilities:
Principal QA Engineer position requires proven experience in testing skills and methodologies; alongwith proven experience of driving innovation, solving complex technical problems and optimizations
Required Knowledge:
~ 8-10 Years of experience in hands-on testing with enterprise products.
Strong testing & technical skills with excellent knowledge of designing tests for early defect identification.
Hands on experience in creating and implementing test strategy, reviewing plans and test cases.
Possesses good working knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows/Linux/Mac), Networking/Cloud.
Expertise in using various tools and technologies, including SysInternal tools*
Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, debugging and performing RCA of issues.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience in upskilling of the team and providing technical mentorship.
Required Skills:
Testing Skills: "Test-to-fail" Mindset, Test Planning, Test Strategy, Test Design, Test case Prioritization, Defect Reporting, Troubleshooting/Debugging.
Functional Testing: System / Integration / Regression / Usability/UI / Web / Database / Localization Testing, Exploratory Testing

Web/Cloud/Network/APIs: Technical understanding of various technologies and stacks, along with associated benefits/limitations.
Operating System : Windows/Linux/Mac/Mobile OS
Tools: Sysinternal Tools, Debuggers, Appium, Wireshark, OS monitoring tools
Automation: Scripting/Python/Java/Selenium/GoLang/Powershell, Jenkins, SVN/CI-CD/
Softskills: Strong communication and listening skills, Decision Making, effective negotiator, able to articulate the consequences of different tradeoffs and influence.
