This position is responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans and test cases. Verifies that the software meets the business requirements using an acceptance criteria and feature design documents, as well as application standards. Testing may be both manual and automated.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop test plans and test cases according to business and functional requirements
Liaise with users, product owners and development team members to ensure that planned testing meets the quality standards.
Review requirements and other product documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed.
Work with the Development team to capture and reuse automated Test Cases, Test Stubs and Drivers, and other Development test objects.
Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used.
Research and document bug reports following agreed-upon processes immediately upon discovery of a quality problem.
Update test planning and execution status following agreed-upon processes as part of regularly-scheduled status updates.
Create test status reports and metrics (e.g., Test Dashboard).
Provide reliable estimates for assigned task duration, along with confidence levels and foreseeable dependencies.
Identify and lead process improvement and documentation initiatives to reduce number of defects, increase coverage of testing and improve overall testing strategy.
Experience
2-3 years’ experience testing software applications with resultant knowledge of sound application development practices.
Proven track record of developing and executing test plans on time and to right standard of quality.
Experience working with payroll solutions and payroll business services
Experience with using proprietary or open-source test tools.
Knowledge of the software development life cycle and Agile development frameworks
Demonstrated capacity to quickly learn new tools to automate tasks.
Qualifications /Certifications:
A degree/tertiary qualification in a relevant field with extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
