Responsibilities:
Participate in design discussions about the technical implementation and consider the tradeoffs to support business value, scalability and delivery timeline.
Identify performance and scalability issues with application components
Determine root cause of performance or scalability issue, work with developers to resolve these issues.
Create performance tests which call RESTful APIs in JSON format
Performance test web based JavaScript UIs, find performance issues in the user interface
Design performance tests to validate if system is meeting SLAs / KPIs
Document and present reports to business stakeholders & dev leads summarizing system performance and areas of concern
Design and run regression tests along with performance tests to determine if functionality is working as intended.
Qualifications:
Experience in developing Test Strategies, Cases and Procedures from System/Software Requirement specifications and Business Requirements
Experience in System, Integration, Component, Sanity and Regression testing
Ability to write Load Runner tests for JavaScript web applications calling backend REST services
Ability to design and run complex test scenarios to model production workloads for both UI and backend driven functionality
JMeter experience running with web services and handling authorization challenges
Strong understanding of all parameters which influence performance of the application like JVM, heap, memory, cache, threads and db connection pools
Ability to read heap dumps, system logs and gather data from these sources.
4+ years of experience in administration of Performance Center and Load Runner
Strong communication, collaboration and problem solving skills with a track record of delivering production grade systems in a team environment
Understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) APIs and services is highly desired
Experience testing Machine Learning / AI applications
Ability to design repeatable and measurable performance tests.
