Job Description

Single technical/delivery point of contact from “QA Center of Excellence” for a Product / Project / Program representing QA organization.
Provide the leadership, strategy and tactical expertise to translate the opportunity into real bottom line value added that is tangible and can be measured.
Participate in SRS/SA/HLD/DLD reviews and work with team to finalize  QA scope

Mandatory Skills

Roles & Responsibilities
Develop and manage test plans, test strategy, and test schedule.
Team assignments based on SOW or Planned scope & deliverables
Review and approve test scenarios and test cases for all the features in Release
Manage stakeholders and staffing needs & handle Peaks and Valleys etc.,
Ramp-up and ramp-down based on additional scope or reduced scope
Identifying the right experienced NRM senior/junior folks to Solution QA Projects to handle the Peak demands by working with QA mgmt.
Lead and manage teams
Lead and mentor Software QA team members, QA Leads, as well as manage offshore team  /onshore testers.
Prepare & Verify estimates provided by enhancement test leads. Provide estimates for release level activities
Plan required internal KT sessions based on the experience and knowledge in the team to build strong team
Work with team on automation needs and take it to completion to gain efficiency in testing.
Work with client and other vendor/solution QA test teams to ensure end to end test planning and integration testing.
Extensive functional knowledge and experience in Telecom domain (CRM, Rating, Billing, Mediation, Collections, Finance modules) and provide technical direction to the team during product/solution testing
Plan Environment setup and pre-configuration requirements for the features to be tested
Coordinate the test data setup for all enhancements of the release
Attend handoff from development/IT for the enhancement
Provide technical support to the Enhancement test leads and testers
Make decisions regarding builds to be taken in from development or patches needed
Ensure compliance to documented process during the planning and execution phases
Advocate best practices and focus on continuous process improvements based on learnings from the project/release
Monitor and track the test execution progress on daily basis to ensure that testing is advancing as scheduled.
Participate as needed in project internal/external audits, closure activities & prepare Test Completion Report
Work with Management and Cross functional organizations on Continuous process improvement, Utilization of resources, Test Metrics & Strategies & Org/dept Goals
Experience in leading E2E QA testing activities for Transformation / Migration / Upgrade projects

Other technical skills
Databases – Oracle and other open source – Cassandra, Postgres
Test automation frameworks and tools (how to use and guide team in finalizing TA approach and implementations)
Operating systems – fair experience working in Unix based environments
