Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance (QA) manager is part of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team. This position will be primarily responsible for establishing and driving standardized Software Testing best practices across the platform, creating and sharing metrics tracking test results for management and stakeholders, and providing leadership and guidance to the QA team. Initially, this position will be expected to occasionally support ongoing testing initiatives in a hands-on manner.
Responsibilities:
Provide people leadership and coaching to an established QA team
Innovate, establish, drive, and advocate Software Quality best practices, supporting policies, and procedures
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Delegate, review, and hold team accountable for assigned tasks
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
Adhere to timelines and execute in a fast-paced environment
Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools
Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
Requirements
Deliver projects with good quality without any defect leakage/escalations
Should have good experience in ETL QA validation
Should be very proficient in Datawarehouse concepts and SQL
Should have good understanding of Layer based testing in ETL.
Motivate the team for enabling success of QA projects
Effective communication skills
Should have a good understanding of test design and execution methodologies
Should have good presentation skill to demonstrate team’s work
Ensured to communicate team progress to all stakeholders in terms of status reporting
Drive the QA activities for the project engaging with source systems and downstream.
Must be a self-starter and detail-oriented
Automation of Data QA in EDW platform
Regular connect with Leadership to apprise on status/risks on a timely manner
10+ years of experience in ETL/DW testing and interacting with users
Review of test strategy with Business
Effectively follow QA governance process (ALM, Audit, etc.)
