Primary Responsibilities:
Automation and Functional QE for Azure Data Engineering
Ownership of E2E quality of the product
Designing of Software Test Scenarios and Cases
Work with Business Analysts, BI Developers and Functional Team members to translate Business requirements into Test Cases
Validating the data sources, extraction of data, applying transformation logic, and loading the data in the target tables
Designing, documenting and executing test plans, test harness, test scenarios/scripts & test cases for manual, automated & bug tracking tools
Analyzing and evaluating data sources, data volume, and business rules
Execute SQL queries and commands to setup and test the ETL process and databases
Quality ownership for reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop
Data Loading, Data Transformation and Data validation process
Focus on automation for Data quality check
Communicate effectively with other engineers and QA
Establish, refine and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed
Identify production and non-production application issues
Performance Testing & Stress Testing
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Experience in Data Warehousing / BI Testing, using any ETL and Reporting Tool with SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Service, Azure Synapse
Experience in understanding of ETL Source to Target Mapping Document
Experience in testing the code on any of the ETL Tools – Microsoft SSIS, ADF etc.
Experience in Validating the Dashboards / Reports on any of the Reporting tools – Power BI
Hands-on experience and strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
Good experience of Quality Assurance methodologies like Agile, Scrum
Experience on different types of testing that includes Black Box testing, Smoke testing, Functional testing, System Integration testing, End-to-End Testing, Regression testing & User Acceptance testing (UAT) & Involved in Load Testing
Experience in scripting languages to create automated Test Scripts
Exposure to Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modelling Concepts
Good knowledge on various Azure Data engineering tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Service, Azure Synapse and prior experience with Data quality with the above mentioned technologies
Strong knowledge on SQL server and SQL queries having experience working with data, data analysis and SQL
Strong ETL testing expertise
Expertise in using Github, Rally, Excel for writing the Test Cases and tracking the Defects
Ability to create/execute ETL Testing Process / Plan / Strategy based on project context
Ability to validate connect to data sources, importing data and transforming data for Business Intelligence
Srong technical capabilities and good knowledge of the coding languages commonly used in ETL development.
Well versed with writing detailed test cases for functional & non-functional requirements
Effective communicator with strong analytical abilities combined with skills to plan, implement & presentation of projects
Preferred Qualification:
Extensive experience in writing and troubleshooting SQL Queries using any of the Databases – SQL Server
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency as a Cloud Data QE Engineer with experience on Power BI, Azure Data Factory , SSIS , Azure Analysis Service, Azure Synapse, SQL server etc.
Experience with testing, monitoring and troubleshooting applications in the Azure Public Cloud
Experience of both manual testing and automation testing scripts that will be incorporated into the QA process
Experience with Performance testing on ETL
Proficiency in Data Modeling and reporting
Good understanding of database schema with good understanding of various Data warehouse schemas
