Job Purpose/Summary:
The ideal candidate for has a deep understanding of software quality methodology, people management, and project management.
Provide direction to staff for the development of test plans, test schedules, estimates, and detailed test cases to ensure adequate test coverage.
Balance resource assignments to support priorities.
Ensure effective defect management and issue resolution through all test phases.
Manage expectations and communicating effectively with business units, IT cross-functional teams, and Project Management.
Conduct day to day management of team duties.
Experience working with onshore and offshore teams to ensure quality of deliverables.
Knowledge of tools such as GIT and TFS source control tools, advanced SQL queries and databases, Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS) test management tools, Visual Studio Test Professional and / or Microsoft Test Manager, Web Services testing using tools like SOAP UI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct interviewing, hiring, training, planning, work assignments, coaching and mentoring.
Manage quality delivery standards, processes, and standard tool set
Manages testing effort for multiple projects for a defined area of responsibility to deliver high quality software changes successfully and consistently within budget and schedule.
Manage automation framework and load testing standards
Conduct post release verifications, track and assess production incidents, defect management
Design, track and disseminate metrics/KPI’s to monitor software delivery quality and effectiveness

Thorough knowledge of testing methodologies applied to Scaled Agile and Agile SDLC processes
Skilled in analysis, solid decision-making and problem solving
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skill and working with technical and non-technical individuals to ensure project requirements are met or exceeded
Motivate and mentor direct reports by effort and example
Education
Degree with emphasis Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
Experience
Minimum 5 - 10 years’ experience in managing quality teams in Microsoft or similar technologies
Experience in developing standard best practices, policies, and procedures
Effective communication with business units, IT cross-functional teams, and Project Management
Experience managing offshore and onshore team model to enhance bandwidth and testing cycles
Web Services Testing, Load Testing, SoapUI
