Job Duties:
Engage in continuous automated and manual testing activity throughout agile development iterations to ensure zero defects.
Participate in iteration planning, providing input on required testing tasks, process, and associated effort for the selected user stories.
Create and manage bug reports, ensuring they are clearly communicated to the team and addressed in a timely, thorough, and satisfactory manner.
Provide feedback and recommendations on software usability and functionality.
Investigate customer problems referred by technical support.
Be a passionate voice of the customer within the development organization.
Be a key participant in creating a Quality First and Zero Defects culture.
Be open & able to adapt new technology frequently & fairly quickly and start producing results.
Create UI and API automation suites with intuitive testing reports.
Create and maintain performance testing suites.
Work with developers to understand the functionality and design test cases for the concerned module.
Debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products.
Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans, automated scripts and programs for testing.
Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures.
Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
Qualifications
Computer science degree or an equivalent experience
5-7 years of experience in a software testing role, shipping complex applications to large scale production environments
A strong background with SQL and C#.NET/Java/Python. Python is preferred.
Strong understanding & hands on experience with testing of REST API's using custom automation framework.
Hands on knowledge of different test methodology & corresponding tools like NUnit, MsTest, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver, etc.
Sound knowledge about best practices in coding, scripting. Attitude to enforce them on developers to adhere to best practices.
Passion for finding bottlenecks and thresholds in existing code through the use of automation tools.
Should not shy away from manual testing if the situation requires it.
Should be technology agnostic and not tied to only one programming language or environment
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in writing and maintaining performance test scripts using tools like JMeter
