Role purpose and Background
The role holder will fit in the existing QA team and will -
Be developing subject matter expertise in Lightcast's systems for assessing and reporting on the quality of the system releases.
Take ownership of all aspects of the quality of Lightcast's products and objectively perform necessary QA activity that will ensure the quality customer experience for the customers and end-users.
Have competence in functional and non-functional requirements QA delivery.
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced Quality professional with a solid understanding of Test and Quality Assurance within a matured operating environment and led the way for a growing QA team. We are looking for an analytical, highly curious, driven, innovative and organized individual who can work well both independently and within close-knit teams.
Further, the candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Experience in coding (preferably C#, Java, Javascript, Python) and a strong desire to learn.
Strong expertise in traditional and distributed database technologies including exposure to SQL, Snowflake, etc
Exposure towards automation tools like: SOAPUI, JMeter, Postman, Selenium will be of added advantage.
Outstanding presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).
Proven ability to prioritize multiple streams of work.
Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building ability.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to understand different stakeholder perspectives including customers, internal users, and management.
Preferably worked with large or complex data sets with an eye for detail.
Typical responsibilities, deliveries of the Role holder include
Test Plan / Test Approach - Produce Test Plan and seek approval from project stakeholders. Align various project/product test approaches with modern data platforms and Data Science test strategies. Report and update the project RAID logs and Manage product risks in liaison with Product management.
Quality Assurance – Plan, prepare and execute test schedules in order to assess the quality of software releases developed using SQL-server, NoSQL technologies. Prepare approaches to maintain data quality. Seek and evolve with new technologies in this area.
Automation Testing - Competent programmer, designing and delivering Automation frameworks from scratch, Scrum, Product Backlog / Kanban board maintained, items added, amended, removed as appropriate. Automation delivery confirmed by Product Owner / Delivery Manager / Assurance Manager.
Agile Scrum/Kanban ceremonies - Adhere to Agile practices as agreed by the QA team. Attendance and contribution to Standups/ Sprint Planning / Show & Tell / Story Sizing / Reviewing User Story Acceptance criteria. Delivery confirmed by Product Owner / Delivery Manager / Assurance Manager. Jira/VSTS Scrum Backlog / Kanban board maintained, items added, amended, removed as appropriate. Delivery confirmed by Product Owner / Delivery Manager / Assurance Manager.
Defect Management - Raise and resolve defects, in line with the Product/Release Test Plan, Manage the defect process, chair defect calls, ensure delivery of defects to the standards confirmed by Product Owner /Assurance Manager
Quality - PMO - Provide project support to the Quality Management initiatives, Test analyses, reporting including project/release QA status review and progress enablers, maintenance of test frameworks, standards, and policies.
