Responsibilities:
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools
Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
Monitor debugging process results
Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
Requirements
Due to this position's nature, the applicant will need the ability to work from home or during off-hours as necessary. Candidates must have:
5-7 years of experience as a QA Engineer in Data/ETL testing
Should be very proficient in Datawarehouse concepts and SQL
Should have good understanding of Layer based testing in ETL
Possess functional understanding on the dataflow in terms of systems interacting with EDW
Enable the team to follow QA processes set up by having regular connects
Automation of Data QA in EDW platform and Review of automation code on regular intervals
Review of sql scripts created by team and hold technical sessions with QA teams as needed
Creation and Review of test strategy with IT stakeholders
Lead Defect triage meetings and connect Dev/BA and other systems
Creation of test scenarios and use case scenarios and review with users
Hold regular meetings with upstream/downstream and users or Line of Business
Regular meetings with team members to track progress on QA tasks
Raise issues/risks to the QA lead/Project manager on a regular basis
Maintain QA artifacts in HP ALM/Agile Jira
Creation of DSRs and WSR for the project and review with QA lead
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
Knowledge ETL testing, and API Testing
Experience of working on Large Data Sets is a plus
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Understand functional and non-functional requirements and prepare test scenarios, test strategy and test cases.
Strong verbal and written communications skills (English)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplines
