In this role, you will:
Work with the test team and the dev team to automate deployment and testing of the various products of the integrated platform using as a baseline the demo scenarios
Work with the dev team and the BSF / deployment transformation team to promote deployment best practices and validate feasibility for projects
Maintain an integration platform taking latest Sprint kits
Closely work with Product Managers to understand and capture product requirements and vision.
Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimate and justify the estimate with facts.
Expert in processes / methodologies and Skilled in build, release & deployment processes.
Be responsible for providing technical leadership and designing, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure.
Be an expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers the desired functionality
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/DevOps and CI/CD.
Collaborate with different teams to implement solutions that are aligned with our product vision.
Provide essential inputs and support during Software Review approval processes.
Lead technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas.
Provide valuable input and actively participate in Backlog Reviews, Iteration Planning, Daily Standups, Demo and Retrospective Agile meetings.
Proactively identify risks and propose mitigation plan throughout the development of product release.
Understand the importance of quality through best practices, unit testing and test automation.
Demonstrate the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment.
Execute in a fast pace delivery mode and focus in delivering tasks to meet the product release goal.
Work in cooperation with proposal, new product development and customer project teams to provide technical assistance and feature demonstration
Show great customer focus.
Use test automation techniques (data driven, pairwise, mocking, test hooks) that fit the problem space. Understands designing and coding for testability to produce quality code with the lowest cost.
Own large sized tasks or small projects and delivers QE artifacts. Manages deliverables and mentors junior team members.
Determine testing best practices and principals and promotes them across the organization.
Education Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 6+ years of experience in the industry.
Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of testing large complex highly available system.
Be familiar with Windows and Linux
Strong expertise with delivering GE Transmission products (EMS solutions) including setup, configuration, integration and execute performance, stability and security testing.
Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems.
Have experience with VMs
Have experience with docker deployment / AWS
Experience of DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodology.
Good experience with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, issue tracking and agile system.
Experience or at least some exposure with Power System Applications
Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments.
Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks.
Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective.
Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team.
