Software test engineer will be responsible for evaluating software functions and designing test plan to ensure that Software Platform and Applications work as intended.
Software test engineer will also be responsible for completing all testing procedures including documentation (Test Specification, Test Reports, Traceability)
Software test engineer should have high level knowledge of software design, development, software troubleshooting.
Ability to perform white box testing and identifying defects from software perspective is a requirement for this role.
Software Test Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Communication with Application and Platform development onsite/offshore teams.
2. Designing manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each software product as per the requirement.
3. Building, coding, and implementing software evaluation test programs.
4. Documenting test specification, report.
Software Test Engineer “Must Have” Skills:
1. Experience with Vector test tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape.
2. Experience of performing diagnostic tests on Electronic Control Units.
3. Knowledge of CAN communication, UDS, J1939
4. Experience in requirements-based testing and traceability
5. Experience in low level input/output testing and debugging.
Good to Have Skills:
1. High level understanding of Embedded C, Model Based Software
2. Knowledge about CAPL scripting
3. Knowledge about creating automated CAN based tests for electronic control units
