Job Purpose:
As Senior Software Quality and Test Engineer, you will be responsible for initially identifying and subsequently defining the required tests, monitoring test coverage and evaluating the quality experienced when testing the target Test Items. This role also involves specifying the required test data and evaluating the outcome of the testing conducted in each test cycle. This role will provide key inputs for testing during the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and may support customer validation activities to support the successful validation of our products and services within customer organisations. Another key aspect of the role is the contribution to the continuous improvement of the capability within the organisation to facilitate first-time-quality, and as such the role must be oriented towards teamwork in an emerging and flexible environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Testing:
Responsible for the creation of test cases using own in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability and portability).
Creates traceability records, from test cases back to requirements.
Produces test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.
Specifies requirements for environment, data, resources and tools. Interprets, executes and documents complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards.
Records and analyses actions and results, and maintains a defect register.
Reviews test results and modifies tests if necessary.
Provides reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with the overall project.
Reports on system quality and collects metrics on test cases.
Provides specialist advice to support others.
Knowledge and Experience:
4+ years of experience in validation
Should have experience Testing for Cloud Services and using Testing Tools like Selenium, Tosca, qTest, jMeter etc.
Maintains an up-to-date awareness of trends, tools, technology, techniques and processes that affect testing and technology within the Life sciences domain
Plans own work to meet given objectives and processes
Proven relevant experience in systems integration and implementation, or software testing development, or a related discipline
Demonstrated ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrable experience in the same or very similar role
Experience of working successfully with a matrix organisation
