Job Description

Position summary:

This position is for a hands-on  Sr SQA Engineer / Lead QA Engineer who can analyze requirements, design test scenarios, write and, execute test cases for OA/MCPM platform. In Addition, the person should be able to mentor a team of 4-5 engineers and manage the overall QA responsibilities in a highly comptetive environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong technical candidate with a numerate degree, or equivalent, to work on one of the most dynamic buy side and sell side systems which are undergoing rapid & exciting change under current regulatory environment.

This role would suit a QA Lead / Sr. SQA Engineer with 8-11 years’ experience with a leadership role for at least 2 years,  strong skill set of Requirements Analysis and translation to Effective Functional Test Scenarios and Test Cases is a must. Experience in writing SQL queries is required.  Ability to mentor identify and define a QA automation approach, enhance automation framework and help the teams in complex day to day scenario on BDD Cucumber / Selenium framework is essential.

Must Have Skills:
Ability to understand functional specifications from the customer perspective and design appropriate acceptance tests.
Thorough understanding of test principles such as unit, smoke, functional (black box/white box), user acceptance, and usability testing.
8-11 years of experience in QA/testing. 
At least 2 years of experience while leading QA teams, hands on experience in test automation using Java/Selenium for 4-5 years.
Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (OOPS/Design Patterns), Data Structures and Algorithms
Understanding of  designing of Test framework design and automation experience.
Exposure to structured software development life-cycle methodologies, preferably agile models
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different levels of stakeholders in application delivery, QA and business groups.
Ability to analyze defects and spot trends
Experience of working in tight deadlines in a mature time-boxed testing environment
Be able to demonstrate consistent and good judgement of assessing severity of issues.
Understanding of multi-tiered technology architecture.
Experience in Testing Webservices based GUI application and well versed in functional testing.
Well versed in writing complex SQL queries
Knowledge of Functional SQL functions

Desirable skills:
ISEB certification or equivalent
Understanding of automation test principles
Preferably having knowledge in testing tools like JIRA, qTest and any other testing tools.

Business competencies, Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent degree.
8-11 years of Experience in Functional / automation Testing.
Design, develop, document, and maintain automated tests suites using Selenium/Java.
Adherence to best coding practices and automation engineering best practices
Demonstrable system / regression testing experience, ideally in a financial environment with a blend of manual and automated testing.
Excellent understanding of software systems and development lifecycle.
Good understanding of relational databases, SQL.
Proficient in writing database SQL queries
Experience with global development team is essential.
Experience and understanding of the testing process, project test lifecycles, and techniques.
Knowledge and experience of financial markets (desired)

Commercial awareness
Experience with Regulations buy side- sell side dealings is a plus.

Management requirements
Demonstrated ability to manager self-workload is very essential.
Complete Ownership of the module/component from delivery & quality perspective
