As a Senior 5G Protocol Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software validation tests for industry leading 4G, 5G and beyond 5G test and measurement equipment.
You will be an integral part of highly skilled cross functional team in an Agile development environment, assisting with development of wide-ranging telecommunication protocol tests using in-house tools which ensure our product is delivered at the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Working within cross-functional teams in a scaled Agile methodology, actively participating in product increment planning, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Design, development, and execution of functional, stress and system level tests for 3GPP 4G/5G and ORAN.
Debugging and investigation of test failures, ability to analyse logs and familiarity with analysis of logs in Wireshark or similar tools
Producing comprehensive test plans to product requirements and presenting it to stake holders
Installation commissioning and configuring new systems in lab environments.
Performing inter-operability testing in customer environment (remote/on-site)
Creating and maintaining test documentation in Jira and Confluence
Work to sprint goals and deliver within the required time and schedule
Involve and contribute to RAV community of practices
Provide support and training on new features/test setup
Qualifications
Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Extensive experience in the telecommunications domain, with specific focus on E2E testing of 4G/5G products.
Prior knowledge or experience of VIAVI TM500, Keysight UeSIM products is desirable
Prior experience and the ability to understand 3GPP 4G LTE, 4G LTE Advanced, 5G NR and ORAN and with good familiarity with LTE/NR physical layer
Demonstrable experience in E2E 4G/5G test using various third-party network and UE simulators
Proven knowledge of at least one scripting language (ideally Python)
Strong collaboration and team working skills, including cross-functionally, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across all levels
Ability to influence senior stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
The ability to work within multiple and/or complex projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to mentor and coach the same or junior levels
Ability to solve complex issues using in depth evaluation methods and techniques
Contributes to strategic decision-making
