The Performance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that systems are built to handle specific performance objectives by determining throughput, scalability, and stability of the system, and assisting with the capacity planning and capacity management of the system. The Performance Engineer must possess a strong understanding of Web based performance testing, architecture, strong Database skills and networking experience.
You are great at:
Drive processes for Performance Testing, Performance Analysis and Capacity Planning
Design benchmarks to meet specific test objectives
Take ownership of root cause analysis and performance tuning activities
Assist in tuning systems configurations (Application, DB, Networks)
Analyze investigation results and present results to senior managers
Construct presentations to communicate findings to a client
Work with Development and Infrastructure teams to identify root cause for performance issues
Inspects, simulates, and collects data through various techniques to facilitate performance and capacity testing and analysis
Assists in testing systems and subsystems by defining test cases and plans, developing procedures, operating, and monitoring tests, and tracking results to enhance performance
3 - 5 years of experience in load, performance, and capacity testing
BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
What it takes:
Experience in planning and executing performance and capacity testing for large scale projects
Expertise knowledge in performance testing tools JMeter, Load Runner.
Has a deep understanding of relational databases and operating system elements and design
Must have familiarity with database engines (i.e., Oracle and SQL Server)
Must understand technology-oriented facilities such as application server configurations, processors, networks, firewalls, and systems management tools
Must be familiar with performance engineering methodology and its relationship to the System Development Lifecycle
Must possess strong analytical ability and have a knowledge of modeling methodologies, architecture, and data design principles
Must demonstrate a high level of communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
Must have a high level of initiative and a strong commitment to job knowledge, productivity, attention to detail, and adherence to project timelines
Must be able to learn new technologies and processes quickly
Must have the ability to work effectively within a team (onshore and offshore)
Must can work without repetitive direction
