This role is to ensure the execution of the quality assurance as well as the sign-off of documents in the related area of responsibility (System, Software and Mechanical Quality Domains as well as development of work product inspection automation).
This role is a regional role encompassing India region.
Key Roles and Responsibility:
Audits and Assessments
Facilitate ASPICE and Supplier Assessments as per the assessment schedule
Facilitate Function Safety Audits as the per the Audit plan
Assess quality of engineering service providers and partners on demand
Product and Release Reviews
Liable for the Review Results performed by the QAPE teams in Regions
Support in definition, capture and analysis of metrics pertaining to Project / Product
Enable transfer of knowledge and best practices across teams and projects
Reporting
Validate deviations in EGRs/Review results and recommend necessary actions
Bi-Monthly / Weekly Status Reporting to EQ D
Escalate, Report, Track internal and external stakeholder issues as appropriate
Interface
Provide Product Engineering Quality resources to the Project team.
Motivate Internal and e Team
Facilitate Project teams in understanding, defining and adhering to the process established
Leadership
Lead the QA Product Engineering teams in the following locations:
Chennai Porur (Technology Center)
Chennai Ambattur (Development Center)
Bengaluru (Digital Solutions Center), built up the team
Output
Resource hiring and allocation approval at regional level
Budget planning, approval and authority at regional level
Tracking and reporting project progress from Quality standpoint
Accountable for closure of customer escalations
Represent WABCO's position to customers and suppliers
Coaching Engineering Function
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience
Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering (electronics, information technology, computers or equivalent)
10 to 15 years’ experience in Engineering area, Integrated systems, SW, E/E, mechatronic systems
7 to 10 years’ experience in Software Quality
Min 5+ years of experience in handling a team
International experience in leading distributed teams
Skills
Thorough knowledge of lean engineering principles and quality standards
Experience, knowledge and certifications in Engineering Standards e.g. ASPICE, S- & D-FMEA, Functional Safety ISO26262, VDA6.3, IATF16949, Systems Engineering, V-model
Advanced knowledge about Software, Hardware and interaction of ECUs as system
Knowledge of Root cause analysis tools (8D, Fault Tree Analysis, Pareto, Statistical Tools, Shainin Red X, 6-sigma, etc.)
Knowledge of specific Customer requirements
Statistical knowledge
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
Strong Leadership skills and negotiation skills are preferred
