Manage a team of test engineers. Hire, train, mentor, provide feedback and grow the careers of the engineers managed.
Determine test strategy for a product that incorporates exploratory and automated ways of testing, is compliant with regulations, creates a robust and quality product and allows for a quick time to market
Determine the necessary metrics needed to measure the effectiveness of the team. Use those metrics to improve the effectiveness of the team
Determine the necessary resources to complete the projects (people, equipment and tools)
Report timelines, estimates and status to cross-functional stakeholders and upper management.
Work with other cross-functional managers to create a cohesive working environment and processes that are efficient.
Education Level
Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) in Computer Science or related engineering field (or equivalent experience)
Experience Details
Minimum 10 years both overall and any industry-specific experience needed
Minimum 5 years of Software Quality Assurance in a regulated industry is required
Minimum 2 years of leading a team (does not have to be a management role) is required
Minimum 1 year of scripting/automating tests (familiarity with automation) is required
Moderate knowledge in modern programming languages such as Java or Python & Agile methodologies
Moderate level of understanding of test-driven methodologies
Moderate level of knowledge with continuous integration & continuous development (CI/CD)
Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Moderate level understanding of design patterns
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
