Job Description

About this role:

Test Automation Engineer would be placed in Gurgaon India Gartner office, who would bring expertise in building UI & Backend automation scripts to help expedite testing. This role will support existing manual testers in various types of testing.

What you’ll do: 

• Supports project teams to provide assurance that requirements, design and other project deliverables meet standards, as appropriate

• Executes manual/automated test cases (e.g. functional/system/integration/performance/security/etc testing) and documents results.

• Participates in the review of requirements, design, and configuration; develops the test scenarios and test cases for verification

• Monitors adherence to quality processes, reports issues and makes recommendations.

• Contributes to test plans under the guidance of more senior staff

• Ensures that approved changes are integrated into the existing test scripts and additional scripts are added as necessary, updates documentation and maintain versions as needed

• Responsible for publishing product quality metrics, trends and measuring improvements and other reporting

• Identifies opportunities for automation and create/execute scripts using tools such as Selenium

• Designs, builds and maintains effective test automation solutions which meet requirements and specifications. (Smoke, Functional, Regression, Performance, Integration, etc.)

• Prepares functional matrix for test areas assigned and performs a walkthrough with the appropriate project team members to ensure accurate and complete coverage of designated area

• Writes effective manual or automated test scripts within the framework of approved testing tools, using documented requirements and technical specifications provided by project team

• Provides test status and raises issues and potential risks to Test Lead/Manager

What you’ll need:

• 2-4 years of Software testing experience

• Working knowledge of standard application quality practices and tools (e.g. defect management) in order to deliver high-quality work

• Possesses the ability to develop test plans and scenarios

• Has demonstrated the ability to execute test cases and compare results to requirements and specifications to ensure compliance and in order to report defects to development

• Possesses an understanding of how to apply automated testing tools

• Has demonstrated an understanding of the fundamentals of requirement specification, design, coding as they relate to application/system quality

• Proficient in technical requirements associated with areas of work

• Has demonstrated an ability to automate and execute test cases using testing tools, scripting tools and development tools (Selenium, Perfecto, Java)

• Experienced with following Testing and CI tools (Eclipse, Jenkins, Groovy, Java, Selenium, GIT)

• Exposure to web technologies (HTTP, XML, REST, HTML, etc)

• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in developing/maintaining Test automation frameworks.

• Ability to learn and apply new technologies.

Desirable:

• Exposure to Cloud platforms such as AWS.

• Exposure to Agile Methodology.

• Experience in Python.

• Experience in using JIRA for defect management and documentation.

• Exposure to DevOps tool stack - GIT, Jenkins, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, etc.

• Experience with CRM including Salesforce a plus.
