As a Lead Software Test Engineer, you will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug automation framework for software enhancements and new products.
A successful candidate for this position must possess both deep and wide understanding of complex information systems spanning from Edge to Cloud.
As a Lead Software Test Engineer, you will work on different aspects of the testing of data platform deliverables.
This role reports to the Software Engineering Manager and is located in Pune
What you will do
Independently gathers and documents requirements for testing of software and corresponding test cases are contained in the specifications.
Designs, creates, executes, and maintains tests.
Participates in reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation.
Develops automated tests, monitors the results, and reports software defects
Develops test documentation required by software development process
Supports the team in functional and system requirements analysis required to design and verify added and changed functionality.
Provides work estimates and status reports as requested. Maintains adequate interaction to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized appropriately.
Responsible for Sprint Planning including breakdown of user stories into smaller tasks that can be estimated in hours
Effectively teams with others through mutually supportive professional relationships, open and direct communication, honesty, and respect.
Builds relationships and interacts with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized appropriately.
Thinks outside the box and is willing to research and explore new avenues to overcome obstacles by utilizing the latest technologies and standards.
Takes the lead on identifying and recommending software test capability improvements in the areas of software development practices and development tools
Able to learn and understand complex system concepts.
Minimal qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other Engineering, with concentration in software; or equivalent knowledge in the areas of software engineering (software requirements analysis, software design, software testing) desired.
Experience on working on Cloud first applications & services
Experience in writing Automated test cases, preferably on API first products
Experience in setting up and maintaining frameworks for Test Automation and Performance Testing
Experience in writing automated tests in Java, Python or JavaScript, Karate, Typescript etc.
Experience with REST, GraphQL and gRPC based APIs
Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and Test team’s roles in different lifecycle phases
Experience with Agile methodologies, like Scrum, SAFe
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
Direct experience collaborating with local and global teams
Strong interpersonal and English communication (verbal and written)
