Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Designing, developing, and executing software test plans and test cases to ensure the software meets the required quality standards.
2. Identifying, troubleshooting, and reporting defects in the software to the development team.
3. Collaborating with the development team to ensure software meets customer requirements and is delivered on time.
4. Participating in requirements gathering, design reviews, and other development processes to provide input on software quality and testing.
5. Keeping up to date with the latest technologies and testing techniques to improve the testing process, mentoring juniors.
6. Developing test automation scripts using open-source frameworks, to speed up testing and reduce human-error.
7. Participating in continuous integration, continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) pipeline, and managing software builds, deployments, and rollbacks.
8. Providing progress reports, test results, and metrics to the management and stakeholders.
9. Maintaining and improving software test documentation, such as test plans, test cases, and bug reports.
10. Following software development best practices and testing methodologies, such as ISO 26262 or Automotive SPICE.
11. Participating in continuous improvement activities to improve the testing process and product quality. Qualifications
Mandatory
1. 2-5 years of relevant experience as a test engineer in the automotive domain.
2. B.E/B.Tech, M.E/M.Tech or M.Sc in Electronics or Electrical, or MCA.
3. Automotive domain knowledge: Knowledge of automotive systems and their functions is necessary to understand the software requirements and test the software in real-world scenarios.
4. Communication protocols: Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN (Controller Area Network), LIN (Local Interconnect Network) or Ethernet is important for understanding how different systems within a vehicle communicate with one another. 5. Programming languages: Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ or Python/scripting is important for creating and executing test scripts, as well as analysing test results.
6. Testing methodologies: Familiarity with software testing methodologies such as unit testing, integration testing, or system testing is important for creating and executing test plans.
Good to Have
1. Automotive standards: Familiarity with automotive industry standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE is important for ensuring that software is developed and tested to the correct level of safety and quality.
2. Experience in code coverage activities using tools such as VectorCAST and GTest
3. Experience in Canoe/CAPL, HIL test environment, UDS Diagnostics
4. Experience in vFlash, DiVa, Candela Studio
5. Embedded systems: Familiarity with embedded systems, including real-time constraints and limited resources.
6. Automation: Proficiency in test automation tools for efficiently automating test cases and minimizing manual testing efforts.
7. Holds an ISTQB certification or is willing to obtain one immediately upon joining.
