Responsibilities:
This role requires a highly technical person who will be hands on in creating automated processes for current manual QA work in the SCA Planner.
This person will also be responsible for leading a small team of developers who will be maintain the existing practices and for developing and mentoring them.
This position is responsible for verifying and validating the overall quality of the database component included in SCA products. The key initial responsibility of this position is to design and build database test automation strategies for black-box, white-box, performance and regression testing. This position also leads a team of QA engineers that develop, modify and execute tests plans for the database component.
The position requires a creative, results-driven individual with a strong understanding of database technologies, quality testing methodologies and SaaS products.
Deliver on client projects and validate the product in solving large range supply chain problems.
Lead collaborative efforts to define database automation test strategies for functional, non-functional and performance testing
Design and develop test automation tools using industry-standard testing products, open-source solutions and internally developed tools
Develop risk-based test plans using knowledge of product, customer usage scenarios, and the software design
Monitor and guide the testing team to successfully execute test plans
Work with management to create and track overall project schedules
Convey accurate and timely status to stakeholders at all levels of the company
Document testing team’s standard processes, techniques and best practices
Participate on cross-functional teams focused on test automation solutions, innovative product designs and quality improvement initiatives
Mentor and train QA engineers across the entire QA department
Qualifications
BE or MCA with a reputed institution
8 years experience in Software QA with over 3 years in a Senior or Lead role
Experience developing and implementing database test automation strategies for SaaS or Enterprise Software products
Significant hands-on experience testing Data Warehouses, data in ERP systems, or other products having large complex databases
2+ years working in a product-based company
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.
Strong database knowledge including expertise in writing queries/procedures for SQL(preferred) or another database
Experience effectively creating and managing large data sets for testing purposes
Knowledge of multiple commercial and open-source test automation tools
