Roles and Responsibilities:
In this role, you will
• Lead and manage a team of 3-4 testers
• Take complete ownership for preparing test automation suite, designing automation frameworks, drive implementation of test strategy, test plans & execution
• Identify testing scope, provide estimations and justification with facts
• Ensure testing scope and timeline is finalized and test plan is aligned with program plan
• Manage scope changes, risks & other non-standard events throughout project lifecycle
• Ensure strict compliance to GEHC’s quality management system (QMS) process/policies
• Ensure adherence to GE’s pre-defined project management processes and practices. Drive simplification and improvement where necessary by securing required approvals
• Demonstrate the understanding of Agile software development lifecycle and able to distinguish the core inputs and outputs in each cycle
• Articulate the need for scalability and understand the importance of improving quality through testing
• Active participation in requirements grooming, various sprint ceremonies daily stand-ups
• Engage in technical discussions, seek and provide feedback on design and development
• Continue to enhance team’s productivity, velocity by systematic improvements
• Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations
• Proactively resolve impediments, dependencies, and perform effective risk mitigation
• Support project team with resolution for interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required
• Track and publish periodic testing reports with clear quantification around key metrices to all stakeholders
• Coach team members with hybrid (waterfall/Agile) framework and methodologies
Education Qualification
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
• 10+ years of IT experience and 3+ years of exp as a test/automation lead
Desired Characteristics/Technical Expertise
• Hands-on experience on Automation Framework design & implementation (Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber etc.)
• Hands-on experience in web services testing (SoapUI, API, UI Testing)
• Experience in driving Test/Automation Strategy with scalable Test Architecture Framework by consuming various components
• Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, sprint planning, capacity planning, automated testing, backlog refinement)
• Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
• Demonstrated Customer Focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer and understand the dependencies across solution
• Demonstrated Solution Focus – evaluates decisions by understanding the impact on the E2E solution instead of individual product/component
• Strong analytical and strong problem-solving skills -communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans
• Change oriented – actively generates process improvements, champions and drives change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly
• Hands-on experience on Scope/Task management tool(s) like Rally, Jira, ALM
• Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills
