Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Tester with expertise in Power BI to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our data solutions, with a focus on Power BI reports and dashboards. As a Data Tester, you will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to validate data integrity, identify anomalies, and contribute to the overall improvement of data quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Validation:
• Perform thorough testing of datasets, reports, and dashboards developed in Power BI to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Validate data transformation processes and ETL pipelines that feed into Power BI.
Quality Assurance:
• Develop and execute test plans to validate the functionality and performance of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Identify and report data quality issues, ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with the data engineering team.
Power BI Expertise:
• Utilize advanced Power BI functionalities to conduct in-depth testing, including DAX expressions, custom visuals, and data modelling.
• Stay current with Power BI updates and best practices to optimize testing processes.
Collaboration:
• Work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and business logic.
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure that data testing aligns with project timelines and goals.
Documentation:
• Document test cases, test results, and issues in a clear and organized manner.
• Create and maintain documentation related to data validation processes and testing methodologies.
Continuous Improvement:
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance testing processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of data quality practices.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to disseminate best practices across the team.
Communication:
• Effectively communicate testing results and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business users to gather feedback and incorporate it into the testing process.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data testing, with a focus on Power BI.
• Strong understanding of data structures, databases, and data modelling concepts.
• Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation.
• In-depth knowledge of Power BI functionalities, including DAX, data modelling, and custom visuals.
• Experience with ETL processes and data transformation testing.
