Responsibilities:
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for underwriting functionality in alignment with business requirements.
Lead and manage a team of underwriting testers, providing guidance and support to ensure timely and accurate testing activities.
Collaborate with underwriting teams to understand business processes and requirements, and translate them into effective test scenarios.
Conduct regression testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing for underwriting functionality
Identify and report defects and issues, and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
Monitor testing progress, track defects, and provide status updates to stakeholders on a regular basis.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss testing strategies, quality assurance best practices, and process improvements.
Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in underwriting functionality to enhance testing practices and tools.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies related to underwriting testing activities.
Ensure post-production quality control for all development.
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 4-6 years' experience in insurance market as an underwriter or Strong understanding of underwriting principles, insurance products, and risk assessment.
Experience with test management tools, defect tracking systems, and test automation tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Certification in software testing or quality assurance is a plus.
Proven experience in leading and managing a team of testers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and reliable test results.
Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of underwriting functionality platforms and familiarity with underwriting processes in the insurance industry.
Proficiency in using testing tools such as JIRA
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise during testing processes.
