Job Description

• Lead and manage a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, support, and direction.
• Be responsible for resource allocation, managing team schedules, handling sickness and holiday requests, and overall team well-being.
• Set direction and establish QA standards, processes, and best practices across development teams.
• Ensure consistent application of QA methodologies within all teams.
• Select and implement appropriate QA tools and technologies.
• Continually assess and introduce new tools and technologies to enhance QA effectiveness.
• Drive the development and implementation of automated testing strategies, including functional and performance tests.
• Oversee the execution and sign-off of regression tests prior to software releases.
• Ensure that the software meets the highest quality standards before deployment.
• Actively participate in planning activities within the SAFe and Scrum frameworks.
• Collaborate with development teams to align QA processes with sprint and release plans.
• Monitor and report on quality metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Ensure transparency and communication of QA results and progress to stakeholders.
• Review defects raised by business stakeholders and update for accuracy as necessary.
• Operate effectively within an organisation with teams spread across the globe.
• Work effectively within a dynamic team environment to define and advocate for QA standards and best practices to ensure the highest level of quality.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Must have:
• 7+ years hands on experience in developing regression and functional test plans, managing defects, and supporting end to end testing for websites and backend systems.
• Proficient in the use of QA tools and automated testing technologies.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with multiple teams.
• 5+ years of strong hands-on experience in automated testing.
• Be well versed in Continuous Integration (e.g. GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Experience with web service e.g. RESTful services testing including test automation with Rest Assured/Postman/Java HTTP Client.

Nice to have:
• Experience managing teams of QA engineers or similar.
• Experience with TestRail.
• Experience with Selenium and/or Gatling.
• Hands on experience in Git version-control and/or GitLab CI pipelines.
• Be proficient working with relational databases such as MSSQL or other relational databases.
• An understanding of Web protocols and standards (e.g. HTTP, REST).
• Testing enterprise applications deployed to cloud environments such as AWS.
• Experience on static code analysis tools like SonarQube etc.
• Building test infrastructures using containerisation technologies such as Docker and working with continuous delivery or continuous release pipelines.
• Experience with Octopus Deploy.
