As a Lead Engineer, Testing, you will be responsible to lead manual testing efforts at a module level. You may have a team of few manual testers, or you would be an independent contributor who will design/write complex test scenarios. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications, and systems work correctly when implemented at client site.
Responsibilities
Understand/ Analyse Requirements/ coverage at module level.
Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts that cover functional, regression, and performance testing.
Create and validate test data; prepare test reports and provide inputs for test strategy
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product development and Services to understand the software requirements, customizations, and ensure that they are met.
Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for testing activities, such as defect density, test coverage, and test effectiveness.
Continuously improve the testing process and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders on the testing progress, risks, and issues.
Mentor and train team members to improve their skills and knowledge of testing practices and tools. Review test cases written by other team members.
Test / Execute complex test cases / scenarios / End to End testing
Demonstrate domain Knowledge and interact with Client.
Manage defects by logging, updating status of defect, follow up on defects (getting fixes and re-test) and ensure successful closure of defect.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
To complete testing in line with agreed timeframes and by following the documented business processes using the appropriate test management and automation tools.
All About You/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Strong experience in Life and Annuity Insurance and P&C domain with at least 6+ years of exposure to Policy Administration System (PAS) / Billing / Claims.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
Experience with manual test management software, test automation frameworks and tools.
Proven experience as a QA tester
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to lead and mentor a team of testers.
Mentor new hires and junior team members to perform better
Identifying Risks and ensure timely escalations.
Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
Knowledge of SQL Database and queries
Knowledge of SOAP UI and XML
