Responsibilities:
Ability to build a team with strong leadership, coach the team, and develop the processes needed to hit the goals for quality and scalability.
Assist in the writing and validation of Acceptance Criteria (during Backlog Refinement/grooming)
Effectively written communication with technical and business audiences regarding the scope and limits of testing and analysis efforts.
Identify potential risks and seek testing approaches to manage that risk.
Prepare the test strategy for the different types of testing: functional, Regression, Integration, System, GUI, Load, Performance, and Installation, along with Database Validation.
Track corrective actions and work with teams to address quality results.
Prepare technical reports containing compliance status analysis, identifying and recommending actions to correct and prevent recurrence.
Work with the Product Owner, developers and other team members to gain a comprehensive understanding of new and existing products and features, and design test suites to ensure full coverage of products and features.
Remain current with evolving industry trends and technologies in the automated testing arena.
Participate in all facets of the software development test cycle: Create test plans, develop, execute, and maintain test cases and scripts, manage the defect log and track issue resolution with development staff.
Analyze all project documents from a QA testing perspective, verifying accuracy and completeness. Must fully understand the business need/problem and the functional/technical solutions identified.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
6+ years’ experience leading a manual and automation test team.
Experience with test automation tools and demonstrating a desire to learn. Experience with Selenium is a strong plus.
Experience with one programming language, such as Java, C#, Python, and Perl, is desired. Experience with Java is a strong plus.
Ability to write PL-SQL queries to analyze and manipulate data in a MySQL and Oracle environment.
Experience with a deep understanding of Software QA/Test Automation, including selecting the right tool for the job.
Experience in Agile Software Development.
Experience leading teams where everyone is learning and contributing with a passion for actively coaching and mentoring team members.
Good judgment, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, responsibility for project-related deadlines, and the ability to prioritize tasks according to assigned risk.
Experience writing API or web service tests (not at the UI level).
Experience with bug tracking systems, ticketing systems, and QA support tools to drive a metrics-driven department.
Experience with common test frameworks is desirable, and experience building internal tools and frameworks is a strong plus.
Technical and functional creativity to look beyond the application’s screen level capability to test thoroughly for various use cases.
