The QA Engineer I is responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing manual test cases as well as communicating directly with developers on issues.
Responsibilities:
Applies expertise related to estimating, designing, developing, and executing test procedures and cases based on requirements relevant to test planning and test creation for product and system testing.
Depending on specific requirements, writes effective test cases; performs software defect tracking and regression for identified software release.
Create and execute manual test cases and plans for both web and mobile applications.
Identify any potential issues, validate them, and reproduce the steps.
Provide engineering teams with analysis of uncovered software defect test and report software bugs in a detailed, timely manner.
Analyzes and understands product’s environment, architecture, and interdependencies to determine and apply appropriate test methodologies and cases relative to applications being tested.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Mature understanding of the different types of testing that QA will engage in: Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, and Release Management.
At least 3 years’ experience in an Agile Scrum environment.
2-4 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Software Testing.
Solid understanding of development and quality assurance testing methodologies.
Experience working with Postman, Newman, AWS/Azure common frameworks (Junit, TestNG), REST API, Selenium/JMeter.
Solid understanding testing web applications, REST API’s (ideally using Postman).
Experience with testing techniques and tools used in testing large scale web and Mobile applications.
Experience with manual testing of mobile applications on both Android and iOS platforms.
Familiarity with UX and Usability Testing.
Experience with emulator-based testing tools, simulators and real devices.
Good knowledge of software testing methodologies, test case creation, and defect tracking.
Experience with test management tools.
1+ years of experience working with SQL and writing SQL queries.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
Experience with GUI automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium) is a plus.
At least 3 years of Solid understanding in Software Quality Assurance in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Sound understanding working in a CI/CD and DevOps environment.
Excellent communication, collaboration, trust-building, listening, and negotiation skills.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
