Role description:
The candidate must come from a strong test management background, working within product engineering teams both in LSEG and Microsoft, Data Ingestion, Platform and solutions, Content onboarding and Distribution, Business and Operations to deliver large-scale product solutions within the Banking/Financial services sector. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the whole system development and test lifecycle, focusing on test strategy, test planning and coordinating large scale testing projects within wider cross programme demands and commitments. This should include working with Development, Business Analysis, Architects, Product Owner, TDMs and other Business stakeholders to manage and deliver E2E Testing to meet quality standards across all the projects’ role out to Production.
QA Lead will be primarily responsible for managing E2E Testing phases, closely work with Product and Business owners on defining clear test milestones for each test phases FT, SIT, E2E, UAT and OAT reporting to head of QA on progress, daily status reports of the projects with clear RAG, Risks and mitigation, generation of test metrics during each project. Co-ordinating with all SCRUM Teams, QA Manager, Test Leads, and integration teams to define E2E Test strategy for multiple programmes in LMP Data Intelligence.
The successful candidate will have an excellent test management and analysis skill with experience of a variety of test design techniques, technologies and have business domain expertise and experience of delivery in complex fast-moving environments. Excellent communication skills will be vital in this role.
Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Microsoft Fabric (SaaS Product – Software as a Service) Define Test Strategy for SaaS Product and define Quality Gate’s to support SaaS Product without compromising on LSEG Testing Standards and Quality Gate Framework
Experience in defining test strategies in Data validation, Data completeness, Data Lineage, Meta Data, Data Quality, cloud native services, Test Data generation, Automated Data flows and Regression test pipelines/framework
Leading and managing QA teams working on Azure cloud solutions, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained in an Agile environment.
Coordinating closely with product owners, software developers, and other stakeholders to understand the project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
Planning, organizing, and managing all phases of the software testing lifecycle.
Establishing an automated testing strategy and leading its implementation, focusing on Azure DEVOPS continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
Ensuring alignment between QA strategy and business objectives.
Providing leadership and guidance to the QA team, fostering a quality and continuous improvement culture.
Overseeing the creation, maintenance, and execution of test cases and scripts.
Managing defects, including monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting.
Reporting on key QA metrics and using these insights to drive quality improvements.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Managing and improving the QA process, tools, and frameworks used by the team.
Providing training and mentoring to the QA team members.
Defining and implementing E2E Test strategy with clear Entry and Exit criteria for each test programmes that aligns with our Agile principles and processes.
Gain customer confidence and walk-through Test strategy and approach for C – Level and Business sponsors
Conduct workshops with various stakeholders and understand each business requirements and define test scope for all test phases.
Co-ordinating with all SCRUM Development teams and ensure meet exit criteria before promoting code into staging environments.
Creation of Test completion reports and seeking appropriate signoff process in each Quality Gate’s exit.
Manage relationship with Product Development, Business and Product owners, define SLAs and KPIs for each delivery phases and ability to drive the quality outcomes through all stakeholders.
Manage and monitor Test process, Test Governance, Defect management and provide pragmatic solutions for any critical issues in E2E Testing
Work with the local management team to drive a ‘quality first’ environment, not limited to Quality Engineering practitioners.
Demonstrate Iterative improvement in the quality of our software and be accountable for the overall quality of releases.
Contribute to a wider Data Services QA, ensuring E2E team is empowered to do the same.
Develop and improve Quality Engineering standards, practices, and metrics. Ensure engineers are empowered to augment and refine these, whilst maintaining necessary governance
Essential Skills/Experience:
Experience in Functional Automation and Performance Engineering. Exposure to Security testing would be nice to have.
Pytest, Python, C#, other similar programming language and Automation Frameworks BDD
Experience in Azure Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, Synapse – Spark Pool, SpySpark, Purview
Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools for managing agile development.
Strong understanding of cloud concepts, Azure services, and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Azure Solutions Associate/ Architect, or similar would be advantageous.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Experience of test management tools e.g., JIRA, Confluence, TestRail
Proficient using source code management tools such as Git or GitHub
Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in an Azure environment.
Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, QA principles, and software development lifecycle.
Desired Skills/Experience:
Strong CI/CD build and automation pipeline knowledge
Experience with containerization and related technologies
Experience leading both local and remote staff
Education/ Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
A good relevant degree is desirable, but experience and the right approach to work are just as important.
ISEB/ISTQB Certified - Advanced or Expert Level in Test Management
