Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing and implementing tools and framework to automate product testing and assure high productivity in product development.
Responsible for contributing in all product development activities including requirement analysis, design , peer and external code reviews etc and build strategy to increase the effectiveness, efficiency and coverage of automated software testing.
Responsible to collaborate with the various engineering teams and stakeholders for development of test project goals, scope, estimates and plans .
Help develop cooperative relationships between the test team and individuals/groups that interface with the test team
Responsible to have deeper knowledge of the overall product including deployment, configurations and product integrations with various customer environments on Cloud.
Responsible to research, evaluate and adapt emerging technologies.
Work with the Development team to capture and reuse automated Unit Test Cases, Test Stubs and other Development test objects.
Responsible in logging and tracking defects using the designated tracking system and tools
Responsible for end to end ownership of the Product QA.
Responsible for mentoring and collaborating with the fellow and new SDETs in test procedures, process and best practices as required, to support overall team objectives.
Engage in test result analysis , test report creation and release management.
Ensure high software product quality and team productivity by strategizing, designing and implementing tools and framework to automate product testing.
Design Functional and Non-Functional Test.
Executive critical Functional and Non-Functional Test.
Strategizing test automation and researching new technologies and mechanisms to ensure high quality product.
Drive production incidence analysis and resolution.
Own and maintain Test environments.
Transition software releases to Production Team
Perform peer code reviews.
Mentoring and grooming fellow team members.
Knowledge and Experience
7+ years as Software QA Engineer or equivalent industry experience.
Experienced and Passionate in development and/or test automation with capability to develop test automation tools from scratch. (Not suitable for QA/Test professionals with “off the shelf tools” experience only)
Possess a ‘can do’ attitude and pedantic in a positive way.
Strong foundation in computer science, with strong coding skills and system design abilities.
Good knowledge of testing methodologies (preferably agile/scrum), common software technologies, web-based applications.
Familiarity with IDEs, debugging tools, version controls (preferably svn) and Continuous build management tools (ant/ maven , /jenkins).
Driving the integrity and quality of technical work for the Product.
Designing and executing test plans for our Product features, largely automated but with some manual testing as required.
Test Cases: Expert in writing Unit tests, regression test, smoke test etc.
Experienced in Cloud based API testing.
Programming skills - Expert in Java programming.
Scripting skills – Python, Perl, shell or another common language
Strong knowledge of databases.
Experience with SOA principles desired.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Good Team player.
Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
Good to have knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.
Good collaboration and interpersonal skills
Understanding of US Mortgage processes and/or similar financial industry is an added advantage
