Job Description

We are looking for a Hardware/Firmware Quality Assurance Engineer to assist in testing of Loss Prevention and RFID-related hardware and firmware solutions, including RFID readers, antennas, tags and systems. The Hardware Firmware Quality Assurance Engineer will perform Design Verification and Functional Testing of firmware and hardware.
Work closely with QA team lead and Developers to design and implement test plans and test cases for RFID reader and related embedded device firmware.
Test Loss Prevention and RFID solutions, equipment and tags including 3rd party integrations.
Document and analyze test results and work with firmware and hardware engineers to identify root cause of issues.
Document issues found using bug-tracking software.
Work within department to assist in testing and system setup as directed. This is a hands on position, you will be required to install, configure systems to execute required tests.
Collaborate on and implement internally developed and commercial test automation tools and applications.
This position is lab (office) based.

What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s degree in technical field or 5 years’ equivalent technical experience
General understanding of Quality Assurance test methodologies
Previous experience working with Engineering Groups to debug and report internal or external issues
Experience configuring, connecting and managing devices onto Ethernet based networks
Hands on Electro-mechanical installation skills
Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Is able to organize and present ideas in a convincing and compelling manner to a small and large audience.
Contributes to the creation of a team-based, collaborative environment, promoting candor and receptivity, clarity of purpose, and a commitment to achieve business goals.
Must demonstrate superior ability to understand, analyze and assess a wide variety of complex business and/or firmware development issues. 
Understanding of basic networking including Ip addressing: Gateways, DNS, DHCP.
General SDLC knowledge for both Agile and Waterfall.
Good knowledge of bug reporting and source control tools such as Jira and GIT.

Preferred:
Experience with Sensormatic Solutions or competitive RFID and Loss Prevention solutions a strong plus
Experience with automation framework and network analysis tools a plus
Experience with Jira, MQTT, Postman, REST and SOAP protocols a strong plus
3 years’ experience with testing/supporting software/firmware systems a strong plus
Moderate Windows and Linux Operating system knowledge.
Wireshark knowledge for Network packet monitoring.
