About This Role:
A QA engineer creates tests that identify issues with the software, these tests entail other tasks such as developing and running new tests and reporting to stakeholders, who will collaborate to fix program bugs.
Key Result Areas:
Test new and existing features, debug code (units and integration), and report errors and failures
Work collaboratively with the developing team to correct errors and participate in testing for product releases
Test automation and test methodology (ex: TDD or BDD)
Responsible for creating and providing the environment for cross-browser testing, compatibility testing, re-testing, and regression testing to the testing team.
Preparation of Test cases and system document module-wise.
Good understanding of Functional, Regression, and Performance Testing
Working knowledge of functional automation tools like Selenium.
In-depth knowledge of testing techniques (Black box/ White box).
Ability to analyze business functions and identify test scenarios (positive, negative, regression, upgrade, UAT testing) and derive test cases.
Analyze and report to identify application focus areas using a metric-based approach.
Collaborate with the delivery team to identify solutions to complex application issues.
Design, implement, and maintain application performance tests.
Provide feedback on existing test release processes and new potential for test automation opportunities.
Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, and participate in peer code reviews.
Contribute to a high-functioning, client-facing, mature agile team, supporting both client business and tech stakeholders daily.
Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development.
Additional Roles and Competencies:
Sound knowledge of SDLC and software testing methodologies.
Should have an in-depth understanding of software testing, including Functional Testing, Compatibility Testing, Usability Testing, GUI performance testing, Creative Testing, and Accessibility Testing.
Should be proactive in test case execution, defect discussion, defect logging, and risk identification.
Should have good experience in API and Integration testing
Ability to understand database design and experience in writing SQL queries from a testing perspective.
Knowledge of various programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, SQL, Objective C, and Swift)
Strong understanding of Agile-Scrum methodologies and project management tools like JIRA.
IGAIDM knowledge is an added advantage.
Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows).
ISTQB- Foundation Level would also be considered an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
A bachelor’s degree in a related field such as engineering, or science is preferred but not mandatory
