Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for understanding, designing, and writing test scenarios and test cases for RESTFul APIs; updating test cases based on the requirement changes
Writing automation tests for backend APIs.
Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
Accurate test reporting to stakeholders and design process to improve test coverage.
Ensure that testability and quality are embedded throughout the software development and test life cycle.
Report issues as appropriate and follow up to get them to the closure.
Ability to design and code complex test cases and to code (or contribute code to) frameworks that simplify test development and automation.
Complete automation test, troubleshooting failure scripts and conduct test reports on time.
Keep improving the automation test efficiency and script ability.
Design automated test coverage strategies based on release requirements.
Participate in peer reviews for test cases, design and code implementation.
Qualifications:
Overall 3-5 yrs experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in manual REST API testing process and creating highly effective test cases using different testing techniques and expertise in covering all the cases of API test.
Demonstrated experience in testing REST APIs using Postman or a similar tool. Strong experience with API testing (REST API).
Proficiency in, at least, one programming language ( Java, Python).
Hands-on experience in various tools like Charles Proxy, Postman, Swagger, Rest assured, Jmeter or Locust.
Experience in working in Scrum - agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, and build processes (CI/CD Pipeline).
Experience in writing high-level test plans or QA strategy documents.
An understanding of what the QA function looks like when looking at Microservices, Continuous Integration, and Continuous deployment.
Around 2 years of experience developing automation scripts in Python or Pytest framework.
Ability to troubleshoot and think out of the box.
Experience with tools like Jira, Xray, Confluence
Ability to analyse the production issues and able to simulate defects by creating required test data.
Good read and written English communication skills and good team player.
Self motivated, persistent, fast learner and innovative.
Preferred Qualifications:
Having experience with Trading and the FinTech domain is an added plus.
Having flexibility in switching responsibilities between Manual and Automation.
Having knowledge on testing mobile apps (Android & iOS)
