Looking for a candidate with strong technical skills to develop and execute test strategies for telecom related programs. Carrying out software analysis, testing and debugging of AWS services such as API, RDS instance, Lambda functions and inspecting programs to track technical issues and come up with solution suggestions and/or recommendations. Testing and analysis of big data applications like Hadoop and MapReduce etc. The QA engineer will be responsible for working with other scrum team members to help develop, execute and automate test cases based on a published set of technical requirements. The candidate preferably has an understanding of the telecommunications domain and can work as part of a high performing scrum team in a fast-paced agile environment.
Responsibilities:
Develops and executes test strategies/scenarios for telecom network applications/infrastructure.
Develops and maintains automated regression test suites.
Works as part of a scrum team in an agile environment.
Works with operations to ensure smooth software deployments in production.
Possesses the ability to work with minimal supervision and/or independently.
Utilizes experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Writes or modifies scripts in Perl or UNIX to automate repetitive tests.
Creates tests and defect reports using the team standards and best practices.
Experience Required:
5+ years overall testing experience in developing and automating test cases.
Experience with Big Data Testing experience, Hadoop, MapReduce, Scala or any other enterprise data platform.
Experience with NoSQL databases like HBase and Druid.
Experience with Big Data tools and frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, Map Reduce, Hive and Impala.
Experience in testing of AWS or any other cloud applications.
Extensive experience with web application test automation using Selenium and TestNG.
Experience writing UNIX shell, Python or Perl scripts.
Experience in Oracle Database and SQL queries.
Load/performance testing experience in web application and Rest API using tools such as JMeter.
Experience in testing web-based applications using Tomcat and JBoss.
Experienced in testing of UNIX or Linux client server applications, including testing application installation/configuration and trouble shooting.
Experience with build integration tools such as Jenkins.
Experience with code coverage tools.
Experience with software version control such as GitLab, GIT and/or SVN.
Ability to create high level and detailed test plans and test reports.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience Desired:
Experience with web application security testing.
Experience in continuous application integration tools.
Experienced in any scripting language is a plus.
Experience with Hadoop based framework/application is a plus.
Education Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field of study.
