Role Summary/Purpose :
Actively contribute to QA strategy and execute various testing activities related to functional and non-functional requirements. Execution excellence in Test automation of REST services using Soap UI, Selenium and performance/load testing using JMeter in an inclusive way by collaborating with other scrum team members and product owners on test strategy, analysis of results and drive a constructive discussion towards resolutions to deliver quality outcome.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical degree.
4-5 years of experience in software testing
Experience in working with distributed systems testing.
3+ years of experience in API testing and automation(web service testing using Soap UI preferable, UI Automation using Selenium)
Knowledge on PL/SQL queries, Core Java as required for automation
Nice to have experience with performance testing using Jmeter.
Essential Responsibilities:
Participate and take lead in product functional and non-functional requirements discussions with product owners and devise test strategy to deliver quality outcomes.
Demonstrate increasing expertise in application domain and functional areas.
Execute functional, system, regression, and performance testing activities, analyze and report test results to product teams and drive resolution
Develop automated test cases for REST services using Soap UI/equivalent tool and contribute to enhance the automation test framework to execute regression suites.
Develop UI Automated test cases using Selenium
Develop performance test scripts using JMeter, simulate load scenarios, execute and analyze to find out the optimal performance and break points of the system.
Work closely with the development team to analyze, debug, and resolve issues.
Work independently and deliver testing and use case creation which meets standards and deliver desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Write effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified and tests remain valid when code is refactored.
Begin to collaborate with development team in bugs fixing and build plans.
Collaborate with Quality Leaders in creating test plans.
Implement and configure testing tools and at times help junior staff.
Implement system-level integration testing.
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies/frameworks like Lean/Agile-Scrum/XP/, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Desired Characteristics:
Familiarity with software development life cycles and agile programming methodologies.
Preferred Knowledge on OWASP and experience in security testing/tools knowledge.
Deep understanding of large, complex, software systems to help isolate and reproduce defects, and assess risk.
Experience/awareness on Test/behavior driven development frameworks.
Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills.
