The Quality Assurance Leader will be responsible for building and leading a quality assurance team for a web-based, data-driven engineering application. The successful candidate will set QA policy using industry best practices, create and execute test plans for subsets of the application’s functionality, report QA metrics to developers and management, and lead the construction of appropriate test case libraries.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Quality Assurance Leader, you will:
Create, manage, and maintain Quality Assurance procedures and policies for a web-based engineering software product
Build and manage a team of Quality Assurance professionals
Construct and oversee the execution of test plans for various components of the software package, including (but not limited to) mathematical simulation testing, REST API testing, browser-based user interface testing, performance and load testing, and security
Act as the voice of Quality Assurance to development teams, executive sponsors, and customers
Lead the development of test case libraries, working with subject-matter experts, developers, and customers
Choose and implement Quality Assurance tools appropriate to the product, team, and stakeholders
Specify, compile, and report on Quality Assurance metrics to development teams and management
Educate development teams on Quality Assurance best practices
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline from an accredited university or college
Seven years’ experience in software development roles (design, development, QA)
Two years’ experience leading a Quality Assurance Team
Desired Characteristics
Experience with test automation and reporting tools
Experience with Lean methodologies
Self-starter with the ability to initiate and lead projects through to completion
Ability to work with geographically-distributed teams
Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, developers, and management
Strong writing, speaking, and communication skills
