Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute automated, manual and performance testing for assigned projects to enable consistent delivery of high-quality software products and services successfully on time and to specification within an agile delivery environment.
The types of testing conducted cover the full stack of the ECH application, with a focus on Backend Testing covering the Application Services and Database layer of the application, through to frontend testing of the UI for our user facing applications
Interact with Product & Project Management, Engineering and Operations teams to plan testing activities involved in the delivery of products and enhancements to assure products meet product requirements and quality standards.
Report issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate, documenting accordingly.
Ensuring requirements & designs are testable & of good quality
Utilize automation (functional & non-functional) to build quality checks & tests throughout the lifecycle
Champion and promote the use of agile testing techniques within the squad.
Responsibility for ensuring appropriate quality reporting and metrics are tracked for the squad.
Hard-line reporting into the Quality Engineering Manager although the role is embedded in the day-to-day activities of the engineering squad.
Technical Skills
3+ years’ experience of working as a test automation engineer
Experience of working in Agile environments following Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
Experience of creating automated tests using a recognised test automation framework such as Cucumber Gherkin ideally with Java as the programming language
Good understanding a Database level testing and writing SQL queries
Knowledge of API testing using a tool such as Postman or Rest Assured.
Experience of working with Selenium Webdriver
Understanding of microservices architecture and how to test effectively.
Experience/knowledge of Behaviour Driven Development or Test-Driven Development methodologies and implementation.
Knowledge of how to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines working with Jenkins or Github
Good understanding of QA methodologies & testing skills.
Ability to adapt and learn new things.
