Job Description

The SDET Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring product quality. This position involves the development and execution of both manual and automated tests for web applications. As an SDET Engineer, you will contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, address system malfunctions, and uphold quality standards. Additionally, the role requires effective time management to accommodate client calls and address production issues across Indian and US time zones.

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, covering new releases, upgrades, functional enhancements, defect resolution, and performance improvements.

Communicate project status, risks, and other pertinent issues proactively and regularly.

Conduct exploratory tests, combining manual and automated techniques, for feature and bug fix testing.

Identify, create, update, and track software defects discovered during testing; review and communicate test results.

Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and scalability.

Collaborate closely with software development teams, integrating automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline for early defect identification.

Contribute insights to code and design reviews, focusing on testability, performance, and overall software quality.

Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test data to ensure thorough coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.

Execute and manage automated test suites, analyze results, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

Stay informed about the latest best practices in Software Engineering through research and continuous learning.

Work effectively in a distributed team with minimal supervision, participating in Jira updates, reviews, and other assigned duties.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:

4 to 5 years of working experience as an SDET will be considered in place of a degree.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

Proficiency in programming languages used in test automation, such as Javascript, or Typescrip(Mandatory).

Experience with test automation frameworks like Webdriver.io and Selenium(Mandatory).

Strong scripting skills for automated test script creation and maintenance.

Understanding of web technologies, protocols, and experience in testing web applications.

Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, Buildkite, etc.

Proficient in using BitBucket for source code management.

In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies, including system testing and regression testing.

Strong background in quality assurance principles with the ability to design and execute comprehensive test plans.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for defect identification and resolution.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).

Intermediate knowledge of software test design techniques (equivalence class, boundary value, decision table, and use case testing).

Self-motivated and able to work independently and effectively in a team environment.

Customer-focused with excellent commitment follow-through

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
