Skills/Experience Required:
SDET: Software Development Engineer in Test
• Primarily responsible for software development in the service of testing and increasing quality.
• Focus is on testability of applications, general test infrastructure and increasing code quality.
• The demonstrated ability to write code is a requirement of this job although the background of the SDET could come from a software development background or a quality assurance background.
• Demonstrated ability to write automated tests and familiarity with all forms of test automation frameworks including unit, integration, system (UI and Service based), security, performance, load and stress test frameworks. Additionally, familiarity with automated test tools for UI, API, performance, security, and mobile devices.
• Fluent in Java,.NET, JS/TS.
Responsibilities include:
• Software design review with a focus on testability, code quality and quality risk.
• Perform code reviews and work with the team to develop code review best practices.
• Automate test cases using the same coding language as the development team.
• Refactor code to make it more testable and are involved in writing unit, integration, and system tests.
• Develop a test automation strategy and increase test coverage throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Create and reinforce branching strategy and develop good coding practices for test automation projects.
• Mentor Engineers (test engineers and software developers) on test automation best practices, SDLC lifecycle testing best practices and support automation backlog efforts.
