Job Description

Responsibilities:
Implement solutions to make automation framework efficient and scalable by reducing redundancies across multiple platforms.
Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to manager.
Scope and implement solutions; estimate, prioritize and coordinate testing activities.
Utilize open-source tools and develop custom scripts for automating tests to validate software products involving both back-end processing and front-end UIs.
Mature and evolve test architecture through the evaluation and adoption of new automation tools, techniques and practices.
Understand and abide by the organization’s information security policy and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information assets.
Report incidents related to security of information to concerned authorities.

Requirements
Be able to demonstrate:
The understanding of test practices such as TDD, BDD and applicability to different situations.
The understanding of different types and levels of testing, including services, functional and performance testing.
Deep understanding of software development and testing best practices on preparing test scenarios, test cases, test scripts and execution of test cases.
5+ years proven work experience in QA Automation Engineering using tools like Selenium (RC, WebDriver), CodedUI, UFT/QTP, Cucumber, etc. and developing and maintaining automated tests based on specifications provided by the QA team.
Robot Framework experience a plus.
Must have hands-on experience using Java or Python programming language.
Hands on experience in design and implementation of test automation frameworks using Selenium, Java, REST Assured, TestNG, Cucumber and other infrastructure needed to support automation.
Hands on experience using systems that support Continuous Integration (CI) systems – GitHub, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins etc.
Hands on experience using test management tools (e.g. HP ALM, JIRA-Zephyr, TestRail).
Experience reviewing test scripts developed by QA engineers.
Strong SQL knowledge is a must.
Strong knowledge of QA strategies and methodologies (smoke testing, regression testing, functional and non-functional testing).
Experience estimating testing effort, prioritizing projects and planning implementations.
Understanding of agile software development and CI/CD pipelines in relation to testing.
Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and complex troubleshooting methods.
Great communication & collaboration skills.
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.

Other Skills/Abilities
Team lead experience is a plus.
Jenkins experience is a plus.
Proficient in SOAP and RESTful API testing using SOAP UI, Postman or other tools.
Knowledge of source code management, such as SourceTree, TFS or GIT.
Ability to partner with peers to deliver successful products.
Ability to self-direct, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and demands.
Experience with Agile methodologies is preferred.
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and prioritize the most critical tasks and project.
