Primary Responsibilities:
Mentor the team within all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Design and develop automation frameworks using Java, Cucumber, TestNG
Serve as a mentor to less experienced QA / QE members within the team
Provide technical support and consultation for Automation and QA process related questions
Deploy on cloud environment
Identify production and non-production application issues
Establish, refine and integrate automation tools with dev & test environment software as needed
Communicate effectively with other engineers and QA
Ensure extensive test coverage
Be capable of building, deploying and managing own environment
Develop quality automation code and maintaining the same
Database testing
Test plan, test case, and test script creation and execution
Requirements analysis and estimation
Environment validation
Investigate issues and provide analysis
Defect and trend tracking, reporting, and analysis
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
7 – 11 years of experience as an SDET / quality engineer / Engineering Manager functions
Hands-on experience in all types of testing including unit, integration, system, sanity, smoke, regression, acceptance, performance
Hands-on Java, Github, Gherkin, Sauce Labs, Cucumber, Selenium, Protractor, Soap UI Pro, JMeter & LoadRunner experience
Hands-on experience on working with cloud (Azure/Open shift) based application
Experience with enterprise-level test automation tools and frameworks, including both open source and commercial products
Prior experience leading a team of SDET / quality engineers in a large organization
Experience with back-end API testing
Experience implementing quality engineering practices in a CI / CD pipeline or workflows, version control, test management, and integrating automation frameworks
Working knowledge of MS SQL, SQL query language and SQL Management Studio
Knowledge on agile concepts and Ability to work on Scrum model
Knowledge on DevOps model and concepts
Ability to automate In Sprint and regression scripts for web applications, APIs, DB validations
Ability to automate Performance test scripts
Proficiency in creating test strategies, and developing test plans
Strong analytical skills
Good Team player, change/innovation agents and self-starter on different techs
Good communicator at all levels of the organization
