Responsibilities:
Handle and lead the quality engineering team, focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of our industry-leading technology.
Diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent your team from delivering high-quality software.
Partner with your manager, architect, product manager, and peers to ensure alignment of your team’s work in delivering product improvements to customers.
Champion an atmosphere of continuous improvement by serving as a coach, mentor, and technical advisor in the field of quality engineering.
Plan and support career development for your team.
Recruit and retain top talent with a focus on quality assurance.
Be an advocate for scalable, extensible, recoverable, and manageable architecture for core products and services with a strong emphasis on quality standards.
Experience:
Experience leading engineering teams focusing on quality assurance, test automation, and quality processes.
Experience developing and delivering scalable systems software solutions with a strong emphasis on quality.
Strong fundamentals in software engineering: data structures and algorithms.
Coding proficiency in one or more of the following languages with the ability to quickly learn new languages: Python, Java, Go, Python, C++.
12+ Experience in working on distributed systems like databases, distributed file systems, distributed concurrency control.
Strong debugging and solving skills, including the use of associated tools.
Experience with developing CI/CD systems with Gitlab, test automation frameworks.
Ability to document your work for the benefit of the team.
Knowledge of REST, gRPC, or similar communication paradigms.
Knowledge of public cloud services such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
Operational excellence: You think beyond feature delivery into how your code is serving customers in production.
Familiarity with Kafka and data streams for data processing and testing purposes.
Expertise in software quality engineering principles and practices, including test planning, test case design, and quality assurance methodologies.
Proven track record to diagnose customer concerns and production issues and work on effective solutions.
Strong analytical skills to identify and address test gaps and improve test coverage.
