We are looking for a meticulous SDET to be part of one of Avalara's fastest growing platform initiatives: Workflow as a Service(WfaaS). In the SDET’s role, your responsibilities include both software development and testing tasks and focuses on the testability, robustness, and performance of production software. Success in this role will be determined by your ability to build robust automation to successfully perform end-to-end testing to speed up the feature delivery process. You need to have advanced programming skills to create automation testing tools and frameworks to assist the manual testing process.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with product managers and developers to understand project requirements.
Define test strategies and create comprehensive test plans.
Identify and prioritize test cases based on risk and critical functionality.
Plan and execute performance and load testing as needed.
Write clear, maintainable, and efficient code for test scripts.
Continuously improve test automation coverage and effectiveness.
Execute manual and automated test cases to identify defects and ensure application functionality meets requirements.
Identify and report software defects with clear, detailed descriptions.
Integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline for automated regression testing
Review and provide feedback on the code quality and testability of application code.
Promote best practices for software testing and quality assurance within the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (Computer Science/Engineering).
5-7 years of experience as an SDET
Proficiency in Selenium, SQL, C# and/or Java.
Strong experience with test automation tools & frameworks and performance testing.
Knowledge of testing methodologies, best practices, and industry standards.
Familiarity with AWS, CI/CD concepts and tools.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
