The Software Senior Test Engineer is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test automation code and test cases for new and existing features of Allegion products. Responsible for updating and maintaining the existing automation framework, perform continuous evaluation of test cases for inclusion in regression suite and test automation suite. He/She will work closely with software web app developers, mobile App developers, firmware engineers, product owner and system test engineers in scrum teams to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and efficient manner.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and executing test plans, test cases, estimating test efforts, analyzing, and communicating test results, defect tracking and participating in day-to-day QA Activities.
Responsible for manual testing and developing test automation for API and Web app or Mobile apps.
Should have excellent communication skills, written skills, and Analytical skills.
Hands on programming experience in Java or other programming languages.
Basic knowledge of SQL DB. Have expertise in writing DB queries.
Expertise in development of test automation for API and Web app or Mobile app.
Must have framework development experience like spec flow, Selenium and Appium.
Have expert knowledge in testing concepts, test process, test design skills and testing techniques.
Have exposure to Azure DevOps tool or other test management tool for maintaining test cases, updating the test results, and sending the test updates to leads/Manager on timely basis.
Basic networking knowledge is a must.
Good to knowledge on Azure/AWS cloud and DevOps knowledge for creating automation pipelines.
Work closely with product teams and product management to understand requirements and translate them in to test cases which covers all possible test conditions.
Collaborating with USA teams to resolve product escalation.
Must demonstrate flexibility in work hours to meet important customer deliverables and project deadlines as required.
Worked in Agile environment.
Desired Skills & Abilities:
Experience in hardware, firmware, and software integration testing
Exposure in performing security and performance testing.
Exposure to Microservices architecture, containerization and Kubernetes
Exposure to IOT domain projects would be added advantage.
Good system level debugging skills are an advantage.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects to meet schedules in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Willing to travel across geographical boundaries based on the business need.
Required Education and Experience:
Engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree
5 to 6 years of relevant experience.
