The Test Engineer is responsible for testing end to end testing of devices like STB, Mobile and Smart TVs on Legacy and OTT Platform. The role works closely with Test Lead, Test Manager, Integration Engineer and Project Manager to ensure the quality of Irdeto products as per the customer requirements. Test Engineers also closely works with the Customers, Engineering teams and Product test teams to understand the issues and effectively communicate same with the engineering team.
Test Engineers are key members of Services Test team and need to take a proactive role to understand any customer related issues and providing a satisfactory response back after required internal discussions. The position will be reporting to the Test and Integration manager. This is a customer facing role closely working with 3rd parties (chipset vendors, system integrators), solution architect, engineering and test teams to ensure the issues related to MW on customer platforms are well understood and closed to customer’s satisfaction.
As part of the job the role may have to travel for interactions with customer, 3rd parties and component engineering teams. Test Engineer should have a good understanding of STB architecture, DTH network components, Networking and OTT platform & test processes.
What you'll bring:
Good communication skills, both written and oral.
End-to-End test execution for STB/HE/OTT solution including advanced and complex features.
Should Have experience on Mobile / Smart TV/ STB & OTT app testing experience.
Good Understanding and SDLC and STLC
Good understanding of Networking and analyzing network logs for OTT platform.
Should be able to understand the technical documents like FRS, Solution document etc. and able to do some modification/enhancement to existing ATP Testcases.
To do basic configurations w.r.t E2E testing of backend components like Origin, CA System, PSI/SI etc.
What we're looking for:
Technical and/or Engineering background.
2-7 years experience in testing for STB DTH domain and OTT Platform
Understanding of DVB/MPEG standards
Strong on device testing (STB, Mobile devices & WEB)
Understanding of Agile methodology
Scripting languages and automation tools
Testing on at least one STB Middleware
Basic Conditional Access and Billing system understanding
Basic Understanding of Head end architecture and operations.
Nice to have:
ISTQB Certified
Tools knowledge: JIRA, Test Rail, RTM JMeter, Postman, Charles, Wireshark
Understanding about cloud platforms
Automation of reusable scripts
