Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback and ensure testability
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases for both functional and non-functional testing
Performing manual tests, recording the results, and raise defects
Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
Identify and report defects
Working with the development team to locate and assist in resolving defects
Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
Installing, upgrading and configuring virtualized test environments
Takes initiative in learning/imparting knowledge on new skills for self-development and/or for achieving project goals
Provide a few hours overlap to the onsite team in the US during EST morning hours
Skills / Project Experience - required:
Quality Assurance Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in Web testing
Sound working knowledge of Agile-SCRUM, Waterfall development approaches
Working experience on various phases of STLC, including requirements gathering, estimation, project planning, scheduling, test execution, defect tracking and reporting, project closure.
Exposure in various testing types - Functional Blackbox, System Integration Testing, Smoke, Sanity, Regression, Multi-Browser Compatibility, API, SQL, Accessibility testing.
Analyze requirements and groom JIRA stories with project team
Test planning and test case design along with related documentation review
Test data mining using DB SQL queries and coordinating with external teams for new data creation. Extensively used SQL Queries for data verification and test data creation.
Good to have skills: Exposure to Test Automation Tool, C++, Core Java, HTML, XML, JavaScript, VBScript
Database Knowledge: SQL, Oracle SQL Server
