About the Opportunity
Prescient has an opening for an experienced and passionate Software Tester to assess software quality through manual and automated testing.
He or she will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches, and writing test cases.
The role requires an in-depth understanding of cloud-hosted enterprise-grade platform testing, as well as expertise in QA automation, and functional and non-functional testing.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in requirement grooming meetings; review and analyse requirement specifications
Ensure all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and issue tracking
Write and execute extensive test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results
Report bugs and errors to development teams
Plan necessary test passes, staying on top of all important issues; help triage bugs and drive issues to resolution, keeping everyone aware of QA status
Conduct post-release and post-implementation testing
Evaluate product code quality according to specifications
Work with various teams (Engineering/PM/Support) to collect information to ensure QA coverage, and provide feedback on quality issues
Assess the status of the release and help make sure it goes out on time and is of high quality
Create and support test dashboards and reports
Desired Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer application
At least 2 years and up to 4 years of QA experience in testing web or mobile applications
Ability to construct test cases and get them prioritised based on changes
Sound knowledge of test development methodology
Extensive knowledge and experience in testing cloud hosted solutions
Extensive knowledge and experience in testing APIs and service endpoints in distributed systems
Experience with testing frontend and backend APIs of web and batch applications
Experience in Agile (SCRUM, KANBAN, LEAN and XP) methodologies on large, complex projects
Good working knowledge of Agile tools such as JIRA
Good experience with test tools such as Selenium/WebDriver and BDD/TDD frameworks
Experience of continuously deploying and scheduling tests using Bamboo, Jenkins or GIT
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Experience in Java and/or PHP preferred
